OYAMA — The truck driver is okay but the cab of his big rig is definitely not.
The tractor of the transport truck caught fire Thursday afternoon on Highway 97 in Oyama. It apparently was caused by an electrical malfunction under the dashboard.
The driver unsuccessfully tried to snuff out the flames with a hand-held fire extinguisher.
Two fire departments completed the job. The incident shut down the northbound lanes of the highway for a short time.
