WATCH: Funnel cloud forms over south Winnipeg.
WINNIPEG — Winnipeggers spotted what appeared to be a large funnel cloud over south Winnipeg and south of the city around 6 p.m. Monday evening. There were no tornado watches or warnings in effect at the time of the sightings.
The funnel cloud came as a thunderstorm moved across the area. It was clearly visible on Global’s roof camera and carried live on the Evening News at 6.
There were no reports of the funnel cloud having touched down as a tornado. From photographs sent in to Global News, it appeared the funnel was closest to communities just south of Winnipeg, like Niverville and St. Adolphe.
