TORONTO — Comic book icon Stan Lee volunteered Saturday to snap the world’s most epic superhero selfie.

Chris Hardwick, host of the 20th Century Fox presentation at Comic Con in San Diego, assembled stars from Fantastic Four, Wolverine, X-Men Apocalypse and Deadpool on stage and then called on Lee to take the picture.

“I want to tell you, this is ridiculous,” Lee told the cheering crowd.

“I’m gonna take the picture and get it over with. You think I can just do cameos. I’m one of the great photographers.”

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

All that was missing was a camera.

Channing Tatum, who will soon play Gambit, emerged holding a selfie stick equipped with an iPhone.

Lee, 92, didn’t end up actually taking the photo but got into position next to Hardwick for the all-star pic.
