SASKATOON – If you’re heading out on Highway 11 for the Saskatchewan Roughriders home opener, you may want to allow yourself some more time. Police will be out in full force to ensure everyone gets there and back safely.
The central region of the combined traffic services Saskatchewan unit, made up of Saskatoon police and RCMP officers, and members from the Craik and Lumsden RCMP detachments will be conducting increased enforcement on Saturday, which will also include checkstops.
Police say the increased presence is aimed at detecting and preventing impaired driving. Officers will also be on the lookout for aggressive and distracted drivers.
