WEST KELOWNA – Two people are in hospital after a violent attack in a West Kelowna neighborhood.
It happened Sunday morning at a residence in the 2400 block of Saddleback Way. According to West Kelowna RCMP Cpl. Cory Lepine, both will survive, but one person suffered serious injuries.
The suspect has been identified but is still at large. However, Lepine says there is no risk to the public.
Global News spoke to some residents who live nearby, who said they heard yelling coming from the home.
“We had heard a guy yelling and swearing quite loudly, we didn’t hear much other than that, just a bunch of yelling,” says Sean Johnson.
Johnson added the area is generally quite safe.
“The only problems we’ve had in the neighborhood is our mailbox has been busted into in the area but that’s about it. It’s pretty quiet and pretty safe.”
Lepine says the residence has been cleared, but police tape is still up at the home and RCMP plan to remain there overnight.
