ABOVE: One seven-year-old’s incredibly sad (but incredibly cute) reaction to news her favourite player had been traded away
TORONTO – Tuesday saw the opening of free agency in the National Football League, allowing clubs to begin trading players or signing free agents.
In just a few hours, the deck had been shuffled for multiple NFL franchises – but one little fan took some trade news particularly hard.
Now, the incredibly cute video has become a viral sensation, even among non-football fans.
“Wherever Jimmy Graham goes, I go,” she said, fighting back tears. “No matter what team.”
The “Jimmy” is Jimmy Graham, star tight end for the New Orleans Saints. On Tuesday, New Orleans agreed to deal him to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for a centre and draft picks.
And just like that, a player viewed as a face of the franchise was leaving the Bayou, and headed to the Pacific Northwest.

And one clearly devastated little girl was hit hard by the news.
South Carolina resident Ashley-Ann Woods posted a video to a New Orleans Saints Facebook fan page showing her seven-year-old daughter’s reaction to the trade.
‘Why is that?” Woods asked her daughter.
“He’s a really good player, and I like him, and I want him to stay on the Saints and…” she said before trailing off, wiping a tear from her eyes.
“What would you tell Jimmy Graham right now if you could?” her mom asked.
“That you shouldn’t go to Seattle,” she sobbed, finally succumbing to her Jimmy Graham-centric despair.
Many will remember the similarity to the video posted last December, showing a Toronto Blue Jays fan’s crushed reaction to news Canadian Brett Lawrie had been dealt.
Like the girl in this video, our young Saints fans displays a surprising amount of knowledge about her team of choice – and no shortage of passion, either.
Here’s to hoping the coming season brings plenty to cheer about for the little member of the “Who Dat?” nation.
