TORONTO – Good night, moon.
American astronaut Terry Virts captured a beautiful moonset from the International Space Station on Thursday.
The Vine post shows the full moon dipping below the curvature of Earth, past parts of Japan and Russia.
Virts is an avid user of social media, posting almost daily photos of Earth as seen from space.
On New Year’s Day, Virts posted another moonset video on Vine, this time of a crescent moon.
The astronauts orbit Earth once every 90 minutes, meaning that they get to enjoy about 15 sunrises and sunsets each day.
