EDMONTON – The Canadian Football League has released its 2015 schedule which will feature the Edmonton Eskimos visiting former Esks quarterback Ricky Ray and the Toronto Argonauts Week 1 in Fort McMurray on Saturday, June 27.

The Esks first home game will be in Week 3 on Thursday, July 9 against the Ottawa Redblacks.

The Green and Gold will square off with provincial rival Calgary Stampeders three times. The first head-to-head meeting will be in Calgary on Labour Day. They’ll face the Saskatchewan Roughriders twice in the regular season: Friday, July 31 at home and Saturday, Oct. 24 in Regina.

The Eskimos will have a pre-season game in Fort McMurray on Saturday, June 13 versus Saskatchewan at the Northern Kickoff.

“With the FIFA Women’s World Cup at Commonwealth Stadium in June, I am very proud fans will be joining us to make history at SMS Equipment Stadium at Shell Place for Northern Kickoff – the most northern game in the history of the Canadian Football League,” said Eskimo President and CEO  Len Rhodes.

The CFL released its schedule after asking fans to tweet their pick to win this year’s Grey Cup using the hashtag #CFLschedule. The schedule was released after 10,000 tweets. The Eskimos received the most votes in the West Division.

The Esks will have nine regular season home games. Here are the dates, times and away teams:

  • Thursday, July 9 at 7 p.m. against the Ottawa Redblacks
  • Saturday, July 25 at 5 p.m. against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers
  • Friday, July 31 at 7 p.m. against the Saskatchewan Roughriders
  • Friday, August 21 at 7 p.m. against the  Hamilton Tiger-Cats
  • Friday, August 28 at 7 p.m. against the Toronto Argonauts
  • Saturday, September 12 at 7:30 p.m. against the Calgary Stampeders
  • Saturday, September 26 at 2 p.m. against the BC Lions
  • Saturday, October 17 at 5 p.m. against the BC Lions
  • Sunday, November 1 at 2 p.m. against the Montreal Alouettes
