CALGARY – Police are looking to the public for help locating a woman missing since late last month.
Patricia Martha Overes, also known as Patricia Arneson, was last seen in the community of Chaparral around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 29th.
The 52-year-old left her home on foot and hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
Police say although there are no indications of foul play, family and friends are concerned for her welfare.
Overes’ daughter says the whole situation is very out of character for her mother.
“Me and mom are close, she’s close with my sister… we don’t go more than two days without talking,” says Nikki Arneson.
Nikki says her mother does have some mental health issues, but is a “wonderful person” and regular volunteer with the Calgary Humane Society.
Over the weekend, family and friends put home-made posters throughout several Calgary communities in an attempt to find the missing mother.
“We probably put up 700 flyers,” says Nikki. “We did all of Forest Lawn, we had some people go to Rundle, we had some people stay in Chaparral, we had some people go downtown. I think we had 19 people total handing out flyers.”
“I want her to come home, or to contact somebody… let everybody know that she’s safe.”
Overes is described as 5’11” tall and approximately 170 pounds. She has green eyes, red hair and often wears prescription glasses. She was last seen wearing black dress pants and a black dress coat. She has a tattoo of three baby pigs and a mother pig on her shoulder.
