TORONTO — The 57th Grammy Awards are over, the red carpets have been rolled up and everyone’s sharing their opinions on the year’s biggest celebration of music.

Sunday’s televised spectacle left fans with plenty of questions: Who is Beck? Why does Pharrell keep putting his trousers in the dryer? Was Paul McCartney the only person excited about seeing ELO again? What’s up with Kristen Wiig in a Sia wig (and can you say “Kristen Wiig in a Sia wig” 10 times fast?) And, why was there no camera on Chris Brown during the domestic violence segment (hashtag awkward!).

Here are a few random thoughts about this year’s Grammy Awards.

That’s what she said

Who could have expected that the night’s only expletive would come from a county singer?

Old spice

We can only guess that a pre-Grammys production meeting went something like this:

Network executive: “We really need to pull in young viewers.”

Grammys producer: “OK, we’ll book AC/DC, Tony Bennett, Jeff Lynne and Paul McCartney.”

Network executive: “Um…”

Grammys producer: “Oh! Oh! And we’ll book Tom Jones to perform a song that was released 50 years ago.”

The Grammys opened with AC/DC (the average age of its members is 63) and featured performances by 72-year-old McCartney (although his mic didn’t seem to be on) and 67-year-old Lynne.

If Bennett, 88, and Lady Gaga, 28, singing about dancing “Cheek to Cheek” wasn’t enough to creep out younger viewers, the Grammys had Jones, 74, sing “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin'” (a song released in 1964) with 26-year-old Jessie J.

Do as we say, not as we do

Many people in the Staples Centre wanted to turn their chairs around during the performance of “My Heart Is Open” by The Voice coaches Gwen Stefani and Adam Levine.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

Although it was clever touch to have American Idol host Ryan Seacrest introduce the pair, it was painful to hear them sing.

Fashion? Puh-lease!

The Grammys brought out the music industry’s most stylish stars — and the ones who, apparently, don’t own mirrors.

Pharrell Williams’ outfit during his Grammys performance may not have made everyone “Happy” but it definitely reminded us to see The Grand Budapest Hotel.

At least two stars showed their passion for recycling by wearing Grammy outfits made from repurposed materials. Taylor Swift evidently used the drapes from her hotel room to craft her gown (Maria von Trapp would be impressed) and Joy Villa’s dress was made using 50-feet of snow fencing.

Prince, meanwhile, rocked a ‘fro, a cane and some cool shades on the Grammy stage — but everyone was captivated by his glistening ensemble, which looked as though it was acquired from a Sathya Sai Baba estate sale.

Girl power

Ariana Grande, Katy Perry, Beyonce and every other female singer whose surname ends with the “eh” sound sang their hearts out on Grammy night — but it was Madonna, 56, and Annie Lennox, 60, who showed how it’s really done.

Sure, Madonna was a little out of breath during her performance of “Living for Love” and the simulated toro sex on the 56-year-old mother of four made some people cringe, but Madge was entertaining. Here’s hoping someone remembered to bring her down from the rafters so we can see more.

Lennox, meanwhile, stole the show during her collaboration with Hozier. It’s time she made a big, big comeback.

Hail Caesar!

Iggy Azalea was the talk of the night for her unusual hairstyle — described as “the challah.” There is absolutely no truth to the rumours that a mama bird settled in Azalea’s hair during the show and laid her eggs.

While it may have been not-so-“Fancy” on Azalea, the hairstyle could work on other celebrities. We’re talking to you, Trump.
