Drug trafficking investigation leads to 10 drugs, weapons charges for Calgary man

CALGARY – A 32-year-old Calgary man has been charged with multiple drug and weapons-related offences in relation to a drug trafficking network that’s been under investigation since November 2013.

On Jan. 29, 2015, police searched a home in the 4700 block of 17 Avenue N.W. and found drug paraphernalia, marijuana, cocaine, Oxycodone, MDMA and cannabis. Police say a 9-mm semi-automatic pistol, ammunition, pepper spray and machete were also seized.

Melville Lloyd Kingston, who was in the residence at the time of search, has been charged with 10 drug and weapons-related offences. He is set to appear in Calgary Provincial Court Feb. 6.

The incident precedes another search warrant executed Tuesday, which targeted the 1200 block of 17 Avenue S.W. Officers in that operation also seized a machete, marijuana and cocaine along with an Airsoft Uzi gun, an Airsoft Thompson sub-machine gun, three cell phones and over $8,000.
