At 6:45am we’ll introduce you to the folks behind Skate To Great. The goal of the registered charity is to pair up new and used donated hockey and figure skates with deserving and at-rick youth.  Skate To Great Founder Evan Kosiner is in town to kick-off a donation drive in Halifax and will stop by to tell us all about it.

At 7:15am we’ll get some tips on how to properly clean our cars during these storm events here in the province. Over the last couple of days, police have issued tickets to motorists for failing to remove snow and ice from the roof of their car. We’ll talk with a Canadian Tire technician about some of the best tools to use to get that snow and ice off your roof before you hit the roads.

Reading rules!  Girl guides of all ages are getting involved in the Words in Action program.   The nation-wide project invites girls to learn about the importance of literacy by doing things to promote reading in their communities. Learn more from Kathy McKay, NS Provincial Commissioner and girl guide Emma Friday at 7:45am.

And at 8:45 we welcome back friend of the show and super talented musician Christine Campbell. The Halifax-based Blues rocker is having a great run having just opened for legendary Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band and is riding that success right into Sydney this weekend as part of the February Blues Meltdown with Charlie A’Court and friends. We’ll catch up with Christine and get blown away by another live performance.

And at 8:45am we’ll introduce you to another finalist in the Viola Desmond Songwriting Competition. Cape Breton rockers The Town Heroes have joined forces with Halifax based Neon Dreams to write a song called “The Good Fight” for entry into the $10,000 competition. The winner will be revealed next week at Casino Nova Scotia!.
