Funeral ceremony focuses on Hannah’s life instead of tragic death

REGINA – Hundreds of people paid their respects to a 16-year-old girl killed tragically last week. Hannah Leflar was found dead on January 12 and two 16-year-old boys are facing first degree murder charges.

About 400 people packed the Turvey Centre Thursday afternoon, many people wearing purple, which was Hannah’s favourite colour.

In attendance for the funeral service were mainly friends and family, but also community members who had never met Hannah but wanted to pay their respects.

During the ceremony, Hannah was described as caring, confident and intelligent.

The program included a poem that Hannah wrote this past month titled “The ABC’s of Life.” However, some of the lines are blank and it was labelled incomplete.

Canadian singer and motivational speaker Robb Nash spoke and performed. He recently made a presentation at Thom Collegiate, Hannah’s high school, and is said to have made quite an impact on her. He dedicated his song called “Transition” to Hannah.
