Updated: Saskatchewan RCMP arrest woman subject to warrant Thursday

UPDATED: Carmell Carleton has been arrested in Saskatoon without incident. She was back in custody by 9 p.m. Thursday.

NORTH BATTLEFORD, Sask. – Saskatchewan RCMP have issued an arrest warrant for a woman who is unlawfully at large. Carmelle Carleton, 41, has previously been charged with an offence involving a youth under the age of 14 and investigators believe there is a chance she may reoffend.

At 1:32 p.m. Tuesday, RCMP learned she was missing. Carleton failed to return to Saskatchewan Hospital in North Battleford, Sask. after signing herself out of a unit.

She was last seen at a business outside of Saskatoon on Tuesday and may have gone into the city. Carleton may also travel to the Melfort, Sask. area, but this is unconfirmed. She also has ties to Ontario, according to RCMP.

Carleton is described as Caucasian, five-foot five-inches, around 165 lbs, with brown eyes, brown/black hair, but has been known to dye her hair blonde or red. She was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater and brown pants.
