MONTREAL – Provincial police have arrested a 21-year-old man on charges related to child pornography and sexual contact with minors.
On Monday, Phylip St. Jacques was stopped by police outside the Montreal courthouse, where he was appearing for a separate case.
The Montreal blogger goes by the name “Spasmophyl.”
He allegedly claimed to be autistic in his online posts and used Facebook community groups to gain the trust of parents with young, autistic children.
Police say he would then convince parents to teach him how to bathe kids and ask them to send photos and videos of their naked children in the bath.
Sûreté du Québec investigators say he captured images of nearly a dozen nude children for sexual purposes.
The man is expected to appear in court Wednesday afternoon.
