Dozens attend funeral for murdered mom and two sons

WATCH: A funeral is being held Friday for a mother and her two children after they were murdered in their Thorncliffe Park home last weekend. Angiela Seth reports.

TORONTO – A funeral was held Friday for a Toronto woman and her two sons, who were found dead in a Thorncliffe Park apartment on Saturday.

The service for Zahra Abdille and her sons Faris and Zain is being held at noon at the Khalid Bin Al-Walid Mosque in Etobicoke.

Police confirmed Wednesday that Abdille’s husband — the boys’ father — was struck and killed by a car on the Don Valley Parkway just hours before their bodies were found.

Investigators are looking into his possible role in the triple homicide.

Global News learned Tuesday Abdille was the victim of alleged domestic abuse prior to her death.

For three weeks last year, she and her two sons stayed at Dr. Roz’s Healing Place, a shelter for abused women.

Dr. Roz Roach, who runs the shelter, said Abdille was supposed find her own place but went back to her husband without the shelter’s knowledge.
