Infamous Toronto figure, Zanta made an appearance on Global News this week when he tried to interrupt a live interview between reporter Mark Carcasole and Global BC ‘Unfiltered’ host Jill Krop Tuesday afternoon.
Carcasole was reporting from a busy sidewalk in Toronto when Zanta (real name David Zancai) approached him, yelling for people to “Google Zanta!” before security pushed him back.
As Zancai continued making noise in the background, Carcasole kept reporting like nothing had happened, only commenting at the end of the report that he knows “Zanta well.”
The Toronto Zanta Twitter account later tweeted “HEY! IM ON TVVVVV!!!”
Along with the Santa hat, Zancai used to go shirtless and do push-ups in popular tourist areas across Toronto. Although he has been quiet for the last few years, his fanbase has continued to grow, and in 2013 the graphic novel Zanta: the Living Legend was released.
