SASKATOON – Photo radar has been officially approved for Saskatoon. City council voted Monday to accept a two-year speed enforcement pilot project.
Saskatchewan Government insurance will now implement the photo radar pilot project along Circle Drive and in certain school zones in the city.

It’s a measure supported by police Chief Clive Weighill, who says tickets will not be issued if you are up to four kilometres over the limit, but didn’t place a threshold on the limit.
“The whole purpose of this is not to make a buck, it’s to slow people down and I can assure you if there are any inappropriate tickets, they will stop on my desk,” said Weighill.

All radar locations will be marked with a sign stating that location is being monitored.
