KELOWNA — An 83-year-old woman has died after she was found injured in a back alley in Kelowna. Police say she was found alone in the alley between the Kelowna Daily Courier’s office and McWilliams Centre on Doyle Avenue at around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, “suffering serious, extensive injuries.”

RCMP aren’t confirming what type of injuries the woman suffered, but investigators are looking to speak with anyone who can help them identify those responsible for causing the woman’s fatal injuries.

“It’s obviously suspicious because people typically don’t spontaneously become injured and succumb to those injuries,” said Kelowna RCMP Cst. Kris Clark.

“Our serious crime section has taken this on and will be looking to try and identify suspects.”

Her name has not been released. Anyone with information is asked to call the Kelowna RCMP at (250) 762-3300.
