Man charged with first-degree murder in June death

SASKATOON – A man originally charged with second-degree murder in a June 2014 death in Saskatoon has had the charge upgraded to first degree murder.

A second man has also been charged in the death of Benjamin Green, 38, on June 26.

Anthony Quattrocchi, 30, was charged after Green was found dead in a home in the 1000-block of Avenue K North. The cause of death has not been released.

Police say Quattrocchi and Green were known to each other.

The charge against Quattrocchi was laid as a result of the ongoing investigation. He is also facing a charge of offering an indignity to a human body.

Quattrocchi remains in custody and will appear in court on Nov. 13 on the new charge.

Police have also charged a second man in Green’s death.

A 30-year-old Saskatoon man was charged last Thursday with being the party of unlawful confinement.

He will appear in Saskatoon provincial court on Monday.
