HALIFAX – Halifax police have released surveillance footage that shows a missing Nova Scotia man in a Dartmouth store on the day he disappeared.

James Cuthbert, 71, has not been seen since Sunday, Oct. 26. He left his home in Head of Jeddore, N.S. around 11:30 a.m., stopped for gas at an Esso station on Cole Harbour Road around noon and then went to the Canadian Tire location in Dartmouth Crossing.

Police say he was last seen in his vehicle — a white 2012 Toyota Prius with a Nova Scotia license plate DTV 905 — in the parking lot of Home Depot nearby between 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Cuthbert is described as a white man, 6’1″ tall and 170 pounds with slightly balding hair and a grey beard, hazel eyes, rimless glasses and a neat appearance. He was wearing a brown leather jacket and brown loafers.

His son told Global News on Tuesday that his father’s health was fine and so was his mental state, with no indication of Alzheimer’s Disease or dementia.

Police say there’s no evidence to suggest Cuthbert has met with foul play, but that it’s unusual for him to not be in contact with his family.

Anybody with information regarding Cuthbert’s whereabouts is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
