SASKATOON – The University of Saskatchewan campus has its fair share of ghost stories but it’s not alone.

The iconic Delta Bessborough has a deep haunted history as well and with history comes spooky tales.

“That slab of marble remains broken from his fall and some say that maybe Fred or maybe Paul, the bellman who had the fall still lives in the stairwell,” said Stefan Deprez, sales/marketing director for the Delta Bessborough .

As Halloween draws near, curiosity about ghost stories arise.

“It gives us the chance to share the history, some of the stories about the characters of the early days of this hotel, right through to the modern characters and it also gives us the chance to answer those questions … the questions that hang around about hauntedness.”

In a recent national survey by MissTravel.com, over 12,000 Canadians polled ranked Saskatoon the fifth spookiest city in the country. Montreal was ranked the spookiest.

With Halloween right around the corner, it’s hard not to think about ghosts and goblins but some places you look, anytime, day or night, that eerie, mysterious feel is there.

The University of Saskatchewan is hosting it’s annual ghost walks while the Delta Bessborough offer tours year-round.
