REGINA – Cheers went up today in a Regina courtroom after a judge ruled a 27-year-old man not guilty in a deadly hit and run.
Shane Bensette was charged with failure to report an accident causing death after 29-year-old Chris Nicolychuk was found dead along a road early on June 15th, 2013.

Court heard it was raining when Nicolychuk was struck while walking in the driving lane of the Ring Road around 3:15 a.m.
Bensette admitted to feeling and hearing something make contact with his truck, although he didn’t realize it was a person.
