Montreal International Black Film Festival kicks off

MONTREAL – The Montreal International Black Film Festival kicked off Tuesday with a red carpet event at the Imperial Theatre.

The festival began with a screening of the film Hope by French writer/director Boris Lojkine.

Almost 100 films will be shown over the next six days.

On Wednesday, legendary director Spike Lee will be in town for the screening if his film Da Sweet Blood of Jesus.

The event begins at 7 p.m. at the Imperial Theatre on de Bleury.
