NEAR VERNON —  An accident just before noon today sent four people, including an infant, to hospital with minor injuries. It happened on Highway 6 between Vernon and Lumby.

Police say a vehicle crossed a double yellow centre line to pass traffic. A white car in the oncoming lane had to swerve to avoid a head-on crash and ended up rolling before landing on its roof on the side of the highway. Four passengers were inside the car and were taken to hospital. The driver of the other vehicle drove away.

Police are now searching for the other vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
