Train carrying grain derails in central Alberta

EDMONTON – A CN  freight train transporting grain derailed near Lacombe Friday morning.

Jim Feeny from CN says 16 cars derailed around 5 a.m. near Township Road 390 between Alix and Joffree.  All cars contained grain.

CN says there were no injuries and no dangerous good on board.

The line will be back in service Friday night.

One road was closed for a couple of hours, but was back open later Friday morning.

Lacombe is about 125 kilometres south of Edmonton.
