Police say an officer was forced to shoot and kill a pit bull after it attacked the officer’s partner.
They were called to do a welfare check at a home in the 100 block of Dovertree Place S.E. at around midnight Wednesday.

While they were there, police say a dog became aggressive and its owners didn’t have a chance to restrain it.
It attacked at an officer, whose partner then shot and killed it.
The officer suffered minor injuries.
An investigation is now underway.
