TORONTO — Montreal’s production industry took a hit Tuesday with the announcement from south of the border that Being Human has been cancelled.

Four seasons of the series, which airs on U.S. cable network Syfy, were filmed in Montreal.

In a statement, Syfy said the crew “have done an amazing job bringing this show to life over the past four seasons and we sincerely thank them.”

The network also thanked Canadian production company Muse Entertainment.

The American version of the popular British series of the same name starred Sam Huntington, Sam Witwer and Meaghan Rath as a werewolf, vampire and ghost living together in Boston.

Being Human also starred Ontario-born actress Kristen Hager and featured a number of other Canadian actors in guest roles.
