Playtex recalls 1.4M pacifier holders, 150,000 distributed in Canada

TORONTO – Playtex is recalling approximately 1.4 million pacifier holders in Canada and the United States due to concerns that a small child could choke if part of the clip broke off.

The recall was issued Wednesday. Health Canada said approximately 150,000 holders distributed in Canada and roughly 1.24 million clips in the United States at various retailers.

Products affected include the Playtex pacifier holder clips that attaches a pacifier to items like clothing, diaper bags and strollers.

The pacifier holders are identified by UPC number 7830005924 and were sold from July 2010 through October 2013 in Canada and the United States.

No injuries have been reported.

Product description:

Platex says the affected product is a plastic clip with a figure and a “Playtex” copyright mark secured by a ribbon with a pacifier clear plastic ring at the end.

The pacifier holder was sold in green with a monkey figure, pink with a flower and blue with a tow truck.

Consumers are told to stop using the pacifier holder and contact Playtex Products Inc. for a refund at (888) 220-2075 or online at www.playtexproducts.com
