Christmas Day was wet, rather than white, for parts of England.
Areas of south and southeastern England were hit by floods and widespread power outages in the wake of a storm that pummeled Great Britain and France on Dec. 23 and into/through to Christmas Eve.
The storm packed torrential rains and hurricane-force winds, reaching 145 km/h, leading to flight, rail and ferry cancellations.

Reuters reported five people have died in storm-related accidents in Britain since Dec. 23.
One of those was a man who died while trying to rescue his dog from a river.
On Christmas morning there were still 37,000 customers without power and as of 7:30 p.m. GMT there were still flood warnings or alerts for 287 areas, including two severe flood warnings.
