UPDATE: Serious collision on Highway 63 sends four people to hospital

EDMONTON – Four people were sent to hospital Wednesday evening after a serious collision on Highway 63.

The two vehicle head-on crash happened at kilometre marker 102 at House River.

Police say four people were taken to area hospitals with serious injuries, but the injuries aren’t considered life threatening.

Highway 63 was closed in both directions to traffic for about six hours while investigators surveyed the scene. The highway was reopen to traffic shortly before midnight.

The cause of the collision has yet to be determined, but alcohol is not believed to have been a factor.
