New documents filed with a federal court show Ontario Premier Doug Ford is trying to use parliamentary privilege to prevent him from having to testify in the inquiry into the federal government’s use of the Emergencies Act to end the “Freedom Convoy” protests in Ottawa. The government hopes to have its appeal heard by Nov. 1.
