At the White House news briefing on Friday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that the White House medical team has identified and informed 17 people determined to be close contacts of U.S. President Joe Biden after he tested positive for COVID-19, including members of his senior staff. Jean-Pierre added that none of the staff members have tested positive to date, and are all wearing masks around other people as per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines.
