COVID-19: BC to stagger reopening of schools amid Omicron surge

British Columbia’s provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced Wednesday that B.C. would opt for a phased reopening of schools, with schools opening on Jan. 3 for children of essential workers and children with special needs. The rest of B.C.’s students will return to class on Jan. 10.
