Almost a year after closing its assembly lines and virtually shutting down operations in Oshawa, General Motors has reversed course. GM has promised to spend $1.3 billion to reopen and retool its Oshawa plant to produce light and heavy trucks. As Seán O’Shea reports, 1,700 hourly jobs will be created.
