China’s foreign ministry warned on Monday that it reserved the right to take additional action in response to Canada suspending its extradition treaty with Hong Kong, due to the new national security legislation imposed on the semi-autonomous region by China. Chinese government spokesman Zhao Lijian said the move violates the basic principles of international law and relations.
