Canada’s chief public health officer Dr. Theresa Tam confirmed on Monday that there are now a total of 24,824 cases of COVID-19 in Canada, as well as 734 deaths, most of which are linked to outbreaks in long-term care facilities. She said these deaths will continue to increase even as the epidemic growth rates slow down due to the prolonged course of the novel coronavirus disease.
