Emergency crews were called to the scene around 7:30 p.m.

A pickup truck parked in a driveway on the corner was also hit by one of the vehicles.

The owner of the truck told Global Peterborough at the scene that a woman was driving the car eastbound on Sherbrooke Street when she allegedly went through the intersection and struck the police cruiser that was making a turn onto Sherbrooke Street from Clonsilla and kept driving.

The truck owner also claimed the officer checked on the well-being of the woman and said he hit his head during the crash, that’s when the officer was transported by paramedics to the hospital nearby.

The woman driving the car was not seriously hurt.
It is unclear if any charges will be laid.
