Kelowna shelter operators in crisis mode after numerous overdoses

April 2, 2019
The John Howard Society in Kelowna has put out a renewed warning about street drugs after six overdoses in their Leon Avenue shelter on Tuesday afternoon. Another overdose was reported nearby during the same time period.
Interior Health put out a warning last week that carfentanil, a drug 100 times more potent than fentanyl has been detected in B.C.

The John Howard Society in Kelowna has put out a renewed warning about street drugs after six overdoses in their Leon Avenue shelter on Tuesday afternoon. Another overdose was reported nearby during the same time period.
