Winter solstice celebrations in Kelowna

Winter has officially begun.

The winter solstice began at 2:23 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, which means daytime will finally only get longer from here on in.

Solstice celebrations took place around the northern hemisphere accommodating ancient customs to welcome back the sun.

In Kelowna, an ancient style structure hosted a unique gathering.
