Goldfish pose threat to Yellow Lake ecosystem near Penticton

They are most commonly found in household bowls and aquariums, but an invasion of gold fish in B.C. lakes and ponds is becoming an increasing problem for wildlife officials.

Yellow Lake, southwest of Penticton, has become a giant gold fish bowl.

The disposal of unwanted pets could now pose a threat to the lake’s natural ecosystem.
