Last minute reprieve saves Oliver ER from weekend closure

The emergency department at the south Okanagan General Hospital in Oliver was going to be shut down all day on Sunday because of a doctor shortage.

There’s been an 11th hour reprieve as local family physicians step up to the plate to cover the vacant shifts.

But as Shelby Thom reports, some are questioning the timing of what was going to be a closure- just weeks after the provincial election.
