Are we losing what makes BC special?

But the BC Wildlife Federation is concerned not enough investment is being made to protect nature in the province.

They held a town hall meeting Wednesday night in coalition with the Kelowna and District Fish and Game Club to discuss trends, threats to fish, public access to public resources, wildlife populations and how they can turn things around.

Caribou, elk, moose and deer populations are on the decline, they said.

A lack of science for fish and wildlife management is also cited as a reason for declining wildlife and fish in B.C.

Without the diversity in B.C.’s ecosystem, the B.C. Wildlife Federation says the province will have nothing to offer those who enjoy outdoor pursuits.
