S.W. Welch will shutter at the end of July. The owner of the small book shop in Montreal's Mile End said he is retiring after four decades of hard work, but it won't be easy.

S.W. Welch Books has been operating for nearly 40 years. But because its landlord is imposing a huge rent increase, the owner says the store will likely be forced to close.
