Canadian teenagers were within striking distance of clubhouse leader Miyu Yamashita of Japan in the first round of the CPKC Women's Open at Edmonton's Royal Mayfair Golf Club.

Questions were raised Monday about public access to the Royal Mayfair Golf Club. The suggestion was to mirror the Highlands lease and Mayfair's president Craig Trendel says he's good with that.
