A local band that lost tens of thousands of dollars in gear in a devastating fire this year says it has the community to thank for helping its members get back on their feet.

As a century-old building at Langside Street and Portage Avenue that was razed by fire is demolished, a city spokesperson said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
