The City of Winnipeg has announced its new Kid Mayor, who will be joining Bowman on the job for a day in July, and the 12-year-old has some big ideas for the city.

The Kid Mayor contest, now in its second year, gives a lucky Winnipeg boy or girl the chance to shadow mayor Brian Bowman, pitch city councillors on ideas to improve the city, and even host their own press conference.

Winnipeg's first ever Kid Mayor and Deputy Kid Mayor were appointed Thursday morning.
