Highway 427 currently runs between the Queen Elizabeth Way and Highway 7, but as of around 7 a.m. on Saturday the new northern endpoint will be Major MacKenzie Drive.

Completed in September, the extension was meant to ease congestion on arterial roads in Vaughan. However, the highway is still off-limits due to a legal battle.
