Carolyn Bryant Donham was accused of lying about whether Till, a 14-year-old Black boy, ever touched her, which sparked his brutal killing by two white men in Mississippi.

The Justice Department told Congress in a report in March it is reinvestigating Till's slaying in Money, Mississippi, in 1955 after receiving "new information."
