Fifteen Canadian cities will share $500 million in federal funding to help tackle homelessness amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The study is the first ever comprehensive national portrait of women's homelessness, and involved a review of all available evidence on the situation in Canada.

With more cities suspecting community transmission of the novel coronavirus, the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness has put out an urgent call for more emergency shelter beds to protect Canada's vulnerable homeless population.
